I have 4 parakeets right now. They have their summer home which is a 2ft wide, by 4ft. long, by 6ft. tall outside aviary. They stay in their aviary from late spring, summer and early fall and in the winter when it gets cold they go inside. My inside cage is 17" wide by 17"long by 33" tall. We have named them after the characteres of friends, but we are two shy. Can we get 2 more parakeets and have them live comfortable in their winter cage?

Parakeets are very social birds and can be housed with many. Make sure that they can move around though. But mostly you never have to worry about it.

Try it...watch them closely to see if there is any aggression among them. Sometimes, the "new" birds are kept in a smaller cage next to the larger one to let the adjustment take place more slowly. Good luck!
