I'm going to jump in and add some non-food related things:

Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin)
Acetaminophen (Tylenol)
Cold and flu medications
Mothballs
Aloe
Mulch made from cocoa beans
Xylitol (candy or gum sweetener, but also used in other foods)

The list is endless.

The most important thing, DON'T sign in here and ask for answers if you suspect your pet has ingested any of these things or other things people have listed here. Call your vet or call poison control immediately.

Good number to have posted on your fridge:
ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center

I hear that they shouldn't eat chocolate all the time, but I have nothing to back this up with really. Except that all the dog owners I know tell me that, like I have chocolate on me and would give it to their dog anyway. Other than that I don't know of anything edible you shouldn't feed a dog.

Chocolate, salmon, raisins, onions, grapes, bones are bad. My dog gets sick off of pork. Macadamia nuts should be avoided. In fact most nuts are not good for a dogs health since their high phosporus content is said to lead to bladder stones. I've read that potatoes can be toxic to some dogs.

You should always avoid giving dogs any type of human food. That is what they make dog food for. But if you are going to feed them human foods, avoid chocolate....it is very bad for dogs. :-)
