Forget diets. You go on them...then relapse when you go off them.
It's about DIET...not dieting.
This is FOREVER, not a month or week, or whatever.
EAT SMART....ALWAYS...but getting excercise is VITAL, too.
It's about health, mental and physical well-being, and self-image...not just about weight. You can't make someone care...or badger them into it. HELP...SUPPORT...and TEAMWORK will get the best results.
Eating breakfast STARTS your metabolism...if you don't eat, your body witholds the calories thinking you're starving it. THe rest of the meals/snacks you eat keep the metabolism going/burning.
1.) Activity/excercise that gets the heartrate up for at least 20 minutes, daily. BRISK walking is great.
2.) BREAKFAST! Whole grains (Cheerios?), fruit, yogurt, eat hearty...FAT FREE milk (Walgreen's brand is GREAT), NO cream or half 'n half
3.) Healthy whole grain/fruit snack, cashew nuts
4.) Lunch - low fat, high protien, no simple carbs (like spaghetti, mashed potatoes, white bread, etc.), yes on veggies (fresh or frozen only), eat hearty
5.) Healthy whole grain/fruit snack, cashew nuts
6.) LITE dinner, low fat, high protien, no simple carbs, whole grain brown rice as an alternative, veggies (fresh or frozen only), ...big on chicken/fish (salmon! Tuna!), low on beef/pork...tons of recipes for easy GOOD HEALTHY dinners on the Internet
7.) NOTHING after 7pm
8.) Water Water Water ....all day
9.) NO SODA AT ALL...no junk food at all
10.) No juices or ANYTHING with high fructose corn syrup...it's an evil substance your body prcesses as fat, not sugar...only NATURAL juices
11.) NO donuts, no mayo (or mayo-based sauces), no white bread (only whole grain), no fried anything
12.) Watch the salt intake
13.) GREEN leaf lettuce, or all-veggie salads, but WATCH THE DRESSING...most have excessively high calories....AND high fructose corn syrup
14.) Basically, you're giving your body what it really NEEDS...NUTRITION, not just food...and staying away from the very addictive and harmful stuff we've been trained (like monkeys) to stuff in our faces.
15.) REDUCE your sugar intake, but DO NOT use sugar substitutes...they create Formaldehyde in your brain....so FORGET diet sodas...besides, we already said NO SODA.
Is there a HealthFirst gym in your area? They are full-service, inexpensive, and fun. If you BOTH go, that's even better. There are plenty of various aerobics classes that you would BOTH enjoy, and find challenging in a positive way.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

Try JUST ONE order of Lipozene. He needs to exersise with these pills and lay off the soda and sugar for a month. Also, herbs like St.John's Wart will provide him with vitamins to enhance this loss. The fruits and vege's will play a huge roll in weight loss. If he gives up, he doesn't deserve money or to eat for a week. Anerexia is another dangerous, yet effective way to lose weight, yet I DON't reccommend it. I hope this helps you! Thank you!

First off, try altering his diet. You can do this in subtle ways so that he does not reject you or your good intentions. His weight, most of all, is a health risk. If he cares about you and your family he will understand this if put in the right context. Tell him you love him, that you will support him in any way, and that you want him healthy so that he will be around for a long time. Good luck to you and your a sweet person for caring so much.

He knows he need to loose weight, so telling him over and over is useless. Have you heard the old saying, you can talk the horse to the water but you can't make him drink!
If you do the cooking go on the diet yourself as well and stop bringing home any junk food. Most of us are not as likely to go get junk after we get home if its not already there. If you want to help him do it together. Diet pills can be dangers.

Its not costly but will save his life go to your GP the Doctor will have all information without the fads and costly unuseful pills and potions.
Walking is free try to get out and about plan a picnic (with healthy food like sandwhiches fruit and water) and take your time walking around the park river or ocean where ever suits you.

Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. Here is how it works. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.
But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.
So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. -eat more veggies (bout 9-12 sevings a day), try to make it a varity of different types
-drink 100 fl.oz. of water a day
-eat bout 6 small meals a day, every 2-3 hours
-get enough sleep (best... maybe 6-8 hours or more)
-don't eat after 6-7 pm
-try not to cook your foods
-don't stress on things, take time to calm down and enjoy life
-organic foods are best, trust me, especialy apples, lettice (roamine is better 4 ur health), spinach, berries
-best trick: become an organic health freak vegan

remenber:
sweet potatos, rice, and bananas r the best cards, no bread or pastas
eat more veggies than carbs
eat fruits, don't skip on them

I think the best thing you could do besides telling him to lose the weight is try and introduce some health activities you can do together. I think he'd be more welcome to it.
