A pinata is a mexican toy that is stuffed with candy and hung from a tree branch. Kids then take turns, blindfolded, trying to hit the toy with a stick. When someone finally hits it, it breaks and the candy falls to the ground for all the kids to grab.

It's not a bad word.

Not if you're talking about this:

The piñata is a bright candy-and-toy-filled container (generally suspended on a rope from a tree branch or ceiling) that is used during celebrations. A succession of blindfolded, stick-wielding people (most often children) try to break the piñata in order to collect the candy inside of it. It has been used for hundreds of years to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas.

You're missing the little eñe over the n, but I'm guessing that's just because you don't know the alt command for it. As long as you pronounced it "piñata," it's correct. And no... it's not a bad word. What the hell can you construe it as other than a container filled with candy and toys that you can whack with a stick?

I'm curious as to how you could possibly pronounce "pinata" as a bad word?

Piñata it's not a bad word, as many people described here it's a papier mache thing filled with candy and small toys. Maybe it was out of context, or it could be slang for some other thing and you didn't know about it.

pinata is definitely NOT a bad word. Like someone said, it's a little paper mache thingy stuffed with candy or something else that kids swing it...to oversimplify the matter. When you said it, did you say pin-YAT-a or something else?

Pinata is the animal shaped thingy you bash with the stick and all the candy comes out.

Now, if you replace the "i" with a "u" and the first "a" with an "e", then you come up with a spanish swear word... don't say it... : )

pinata

A female who is extremely good looking but, has so much baggage or is so emotional no one wants a relationship with her due to that fact.

Steve: "Man that girl is fine!"
Joe: "She is a pinata. Everyone wants to hit her, but no one wants to clean up the mess"
