Let us use the word, TRUE christian. It mean to be "Christlike".
To live in the example that Jesus taught us. What is right and
what is wrong. Learning, and growing in spirit. So that we can
be a good example for others.

The word Christians is not mentioned in the bible.
They are, if anything, called Genitles.
Christianity was coined to encompass follower of Jesus.
Jesus was a Jew and a Baptist. His religions were Jewish and that of John the Baptist.
Christians follow neither of these very faithfully.
Christians are a bunch of Pagans converted by Peter, Paul, John and later Constatine.
Christians follow, bascially, a made up ritualistic religion created by Peter, Paul, John and mostly Constantine.
The Bible is written mostly by the followers of Constatine.
The rituals are based on Pagan holidays incorporated into neo-Jewish traiditions.
Jesus followed ALL the Jewish traiditoins. Christians don't.
Jesus told his disciples they would all do the Jewish traditions again in his Fathers house after the second comming.
Christians, for the most part, have NO idea what that's about. Jews do.
Jesus was a reformist Jew.
The Jews have since reformed on thier own without him, but their reforms are in keeping with his desires, by and large.
if you want to know Jesus read the bible. If you want to know Christianity, subscibe to one of the organized beleifs
The two are not necessarily the same.

The Bible is the one resource that defines the behavior of God's children. It includes information about the life of Jesus - the role model for appropriate behavior. He taught His disciples, not only to share the Word of the Lord with others, but to accept and love all people. He taught us about forgiveness. He told us that He would be the judge of mankind. The Bible includes the laws of God. People who follow the teachings of Christ are the "real" Christians. Those who teach other principles are considered to be "false prophets".

I don't think the word Christians is in the bible
followers of Christ are called "deciples" or "followers"
They will endeavour to live by the following commands (right out of Christ's mouth) "Love the Lord your God and love your neighbour as yourself".
Paul then says, that everyone will know a follower of Christ by his fruit: in other words, if the follower bears witness of the Christ, lives by the above commands, and supports the teachings of Christ - the fruits of his life will be apparent to all.

Joh 13:35 By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
