The body is just a condition used to experience life - due to the duality that is part of the Earth experience, spirit will live out that life as a male or female. Spirit, in and of itself, does not have a gender outside of this duality. It is free to express itself however it deems to be best.

I think it's both....a harmonious balance between the two. Even though the soul needs no gender it must have the concept of being both a male and a female consciouses. Then when it enters a body it's concept of what female and male are become manifest and it experiences gender on the physical plane. So what I'm saying is; the soul could only have a concept of gender until it actually had a physical experience of gender. If you believe in the soul having a "past life" then it's possible for a soul, that is now in a man, to have experienced being a woman before. Maybe that's why we have some that, even though they are physically a man, strongly gender identify with being a woman and vice-versa. Also, maybe after the soul has physically experienced being both genders it is "more complete" and ready to move onto the next level of enlightenment or consciouses. Of course I don't know any of this to be a fact...I'm just going off of what I feel and lots spiritual studying.

yes bredren; the spirit IS either male or female... and that determines the gender of the flesh.
if you notice; on the sixth day; there was a male and a female created out of the Spirit of God. Many think that that was Adam and Eve. But get your KJV bible and check out what I'm about to tell you: In the early part of the day the land animals were created... the Holy Spirit; or Spirit of God called them forth out of the earth. Later that day, the male and female were created.
And like I said, many think that to be Adam and Eve. But as you read through to the second chapter of Genesis, it tells you that all the heavens and the host of them were completed... but there was not a man to till the earth (here). So what did God do? He made a man, first... then placed him in the Garden of Eden. Then because he was alone, and there was no "help meet" for him, God then "formed" animals afther his kind, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. But still there was no mate for Adam, and then came Eve.
So you see that there were two sets of beings in the beginning. God and His Wife, who would be the Queen of heaven... and Adam and Eve. We see the union of those four in chapter 6 of genesis... and from them four was the earth and heaven populated.
I say all that to say this; male and female are the yin and yang of life... every thing boils down to it.
Check it out.

Spirits have no gender whatsoever. There is neither male nor female spirits. The gender of a physical body is determined by factors in the physical world, the world of the flesh.

The Bible says that in the afterlife there will not be "husbands and wives" but everyone will be like the angels in heaven. That means without gender. This makes me believe the soul doesn't have a gender.

I think that our souls are either both or neither male or female. I believe that our souls agree to enter a particular gender before incarnation. Each soul has lessons to learn and or karma to work through during their time on earth.

yes, if your a male your soul is male and the same with women. when you die to be with the Lord, then the soul which had gone to heaven gets a temporary covering then reunites with a new glorified body at the first resurrection. the gender will always remain the same unless someone mixes up the temporary covering in heaven? just kidding.

Sorry, I am not sure I understand the question.
Do you mean: Does each person have both a male and female
spirit?
******
Ah! OK. No, in that context, I doubt that a spirit could be said to be either male or female in any meaningful sense.

No, I believe everything existed spiritually before it existed temporally. I believe the sex was already determined prior to the spirit entering the body. I don't believe mistakes happen!
