While traveling, I was in a city that banned hard liquor sales on Sunday, so my wife and I were served a white wine margarita and a red wine daquiri. They weren't bad! Anyone have a recipe to share?

I don't think they merely substituted the wine for the tequila/rum. Call it a pseudo-margarita/daquiri.
