The Windows XP has everything you need built in. Just boot to the CD and follow the instructions. Now, if you are trying to re-install ME, you can create a boot disk from DOS. Just format a blank disk with the command files on it. Once that is done, reboot the machine with ME CD in the CDROM drive.

You will need to have the original Windows ME software discs. You can then put the install CD(disc) in your computer AFTER you shut it off. Then turn on the computer and you SHOULD be able to re-install the windows software. You somehow deleted the entire operating system which IS windows. Good luck. If you know the amount of non used hard disc space and memory and correct processor size you could possibly install Window XP. Check the Windows XP software box in the store for installation requirements first before purchasing the Windows XP software though. If you purchase it you can not return it!

Sounds like your laptop already has Windows ME installed on it. You didn't say which version of Windows you want to install? First insert new Windows CD into the CD-ROM or cd player and follow the install instructions...Good Luck.
