What do all of you do for a living? I was mainly interested in those who have Bachelor degrees on up. What do you like and dislike about your job? Are you doing what you always thought you would be doing, or did reality alter your plans? How many of you are thinking of swithcing careers? Are you a 'lifer' at your job, or do you anticipate a career change in the future? Why? I'm attempting to figure out what to do with my degree, and wanted a general idea of some careers out there and what there practitioners think of them. Thanks in advance!

I have a BS in Communication with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. I sort of fell into it, and excelled, but after my internship, I have no desire to do this professionally. I have considered teaching and earning a Master's in PR or Advertising. I tend to be creative, enjoying writing, drawing, public speaking, and helping others. I also desiring that no two days be the same. BUT I also want job stablility, decent benefits/salary, and something personally satisfying. I;ve always felt a career should be an extension of who you are personally...

Im a network engineer in the IT dept of a hospital. When I started school, I had no intentions of going into the IT field but a part time job as a Computer Operator at the hospital where I work changed all that. I love my job though it can be stressful. I hate to throw in the gender card but it is hard being a female in a predomintly male profession. I had to work 10x harder then the men to earn the respect I have now. Right now, I intend to stay with this career until I retire but who knows, I started college wanting to be a Marine Biologist and ended with a degree in Information Technology.

I've had careers in child care, the NYC foster care system (testifying in court) and now I am a teacher. The good thing about the field of education is that I can do other things when I want a change.

A very crappy career. Where to start? I have a BS. Don't like engineers. Never wanted to be one. Not exciting or stimulating. Corporate America sucks bad. Reality made it worse. Want to switch to healthcare. Applying to nursing. Been accepted before. Gonna try again.

Until March I was a job coach with the government. I kind-of just fell into it, but I loved it. I had to resign due to a chronic health condition.
