The inactive reserve is being called up. How can this be? 50 million people voted for Bush so how come millions of republicans aren't lined up begging to go to Iraq?

Because the Republican party is short of Real Men!

The republicans are only trying to emulate their "great leader" by doing what he did during the Vietnam War... all talk and when it comes down to actually going there they wet themselves cringing at the idea of leaving their upper class life for the combat life. Just like that London newspaper said after the 2004 election (when I was in Tikrit, Iraq): HOW CAN 51 MILLION AMERICANS BE SO DUMB???

Oh right I was in the Army and am 110% Democrat (opposite of Republican for all the English people reading this).

Well instead of drafting our young men (which should be a very last resort) they are going to call up the men who already have some experience and training. Once the draft starts the training is quick and the men (boys) are thrown in there with very little practical experience. Make sense?

Because of the basic American ideal: "That's a good idea, why don't YOU do that?". Most Americans couldn't be bothered to fight/take a stand for something that doesn't directly affect them. Conversely, we live in a republic. Maybe the people are speaking, and by not joining, not supporting this war. This action may inform the leaders of our nations desires.

Marines vote? I ask because in some countries, members of any army are allowed to vote. If they did, you can tell they obviously didn't vote for Bush :)

(Not American but I don't want any of them to go and fight a war)

The 101st Armchair Division of the US Republican Army are doing their jobs by watching Fox News and posting on Yahoo!.

They are fighting the liberal socialist terrorists here so they don't have to risk their lives fighting abroad.
