I bury my dogs poop in my back yard. I bury it about 6 inches deep daily in different spots and in areas that recieve daily irrigation to promote decomposition. My yard smells clean. Is this legal and is there any negative enviromental impact?

its very much so ok, and its very good for your lawn, and the dirt, and the worms will love it!!!! Dont worry, its an ok thing to do...but if you have a flower garden or something, you could just kind of dump it in there, and it would be good for that too!!!!

I don't think it's illegal if you own the home, but eventually you'll run out of places to dig. Not to mention your yard may start to look like a prairie dog town. You may want to look into a product called a "Doggy Dooley". You pick a spot in the backyard and put it in the ground. You put some enzymes in it, so when you put the dog's poop in it, the enzymes eat it up.

Sure, it's way better than sending it to the landfill or letting it run off into the stormdrains! Good fertilizer, too.
No reason for it not to be legal, either, so long as there is no smell to bother the neighbors.

it may be easier to just take the hose out across your yard with a spray nozzle on it and spay the poop. that way it is still fertilizing but you don't have to bury it, and you won't track it in the house.

There is nothing at all wrong with what you're doing. You are burying it deep enough. Dog droppings are good fertilizer.

i dont see anything wrong or environmentally hazardous about it. in the wild animals poop everywhere and the whole circle of life thing but burying it shouldnt ruin your yard. it might get stinky~~~

If you own your house, you own the land! I think it is an ingenious way of fertilizing your lawn, but it sounds like a lot of work.

Well, it is your yard, so if that's what you want to do, then go ahead. But I don't like that idea. Sometimes I like to dig holes when I'm bored, and I wouldn;t want to come across my old poo poos.
