for a battery charge to become over active and will the police come and arest me before i try to turn my self in. the charge has been active since april why havn't the cops arrested me yet?

If you are careful and not get pulled over you could go for awhile. But just turn yourself in get it done and go live a clean life.

Judges are typically much more lenient if they can take into account your "good behavior" for turning yourself in. Prepare to have a reason for not have reported your self sooner- that will help that embarrassing on the spot questioning.

This probably all depends on any priors you may or may not have.

It depends: was it simple battery, aggravated battery, sexual battery, were you attempting to injury a family member? Don't wait. Report at once. You'll probably get a fine and a suspended sentence at the very most!

If it's just a "Bench Warrant", they may never actually come looking, but they will catch up to you eventually. Save yourself the grief and call the courts and schedule a hearing.

they don't come and get people any more, they just wait for you to screw up some way [maybe a ticket or you might be with some one else that screwed up and they got both of you].
