I have a really bad sharp pain in my lower jaw, left side when I try to bite down. I can't bite down completely and I have only been eating soft food that doesn't need too much chewing. It really hurts like hell. I don't know what this might be. Never happened before. I didn't get injured, nor fell down, nor got hit, nor it's a toothache.
Does anyone know what this might be?
It becomes a very strange sharp pain when I bite down and it shoots out into my left ear. I have also been pretty tired lately. I have been eating okay. Also, I have just started working out more intensively. Could this be related? Please, advise. Thank you.

It also may be your wisdom teeth. Some people get a lot of pain when they come in. Either way, it's time to get thee to the dentist!

2 possible reasons, and I'm an expert in them both.
1) TMJ. Don't know what it stands for, but it's basically a problem in your jaw joints. Do you clench your jaw or grind your teeth in your sleep? Do you notice a cracking sound in the joint of your jaw? This is a weakening in this joint, it's degenerative, and there's no way to fix it. The best thing you can do is stop grindind or clenching your teeth.
2) Sinusitus or a sinus infection. Do you have airborn allergies? I sure do! Have you also been suffering from headaches over your eyes or right above your nose? It's basically an infection in your sinuses -- which are attached to your inner-ear, all of which are attached to your jaw. The reason I think this could apply to you is you've been tired. When you get sinusitus or a sinus infection, you most certainly suffer from exaustion. A doctor can tell if you suffer from this just by looking up your nose. A sinus infection can be fixed with medication -- it's an infection, like a cold. Sinusitus feels the same as a sinus infection, but this is more of an irritation in your sinuses, and it's CHRONIC. You can only manage this, and suffer through it. You'll have good days & bad.

There are a number of things it could be: gum disease, an abscess, TMJ (tempo-mandibular joint disorder), or a pulled or strained muscle in your jaw. If you have been doing crunches or sit-ups in a way that put a lot of strain on your neck and jaw this could cause muscle pain there. Muscle pain can also occur if you grind your teeth at night. If the pain isn't gone in 5 days to a week from when it started, I would go to the dentist. They should be able to accurately diagnose and treat the problem.

There is a nerve in your jaw that runs from your ear to your lower jaw. The dentist will shoot that nerve with novicane to give you a total block numbness on that side, I am going to guess you hurt the nerve somehow. Give it a few days and it should go away. Posibly lifting some heavy weights caused you to grit your teeth hard than normal

You probably have TMJ tempro mandibular joint disorder you might want to go see your dentist because it can become serious as to were your jaw might lock itself and it is real painful. Try an oral facial pain clinic or have your dentist reffer you..Good Luck! But take care of it fast

You may want to try this.. find your jaw joint and press in with your finger on both sides.. to tolerance... when ready press a bit harder and say "OW" loudly. If this is TMJ this maneuver will reduce the cartilage back into position. If it doesn't is another problem.. let me know.
The email won't go thru!!!

Does it feel like an electric shock? Is it only when you eat or does things like wind or cold cause pain? Is it excrutiating.
It might be Trigeminal Neuralgia.
If this fits your pain, do not have dental work done. Go to a neurologist.

sounds like you might need a root canal.
also it could be because you slept on that side all night-in a wrong position?
but unless you were in a fight recently and were hit on the side-we can pretty much rule out a broken jaw or fracture.
