Many people who have near-death experiences relate their experience as being at the doorsteps of Heaven. Most of them describe these similarities when they share their personal experience:
. Walking though a tunnel towards a bright light (interesting foot note here is that children often describe walking across a small foot bridge toward the bright light - It is easier for them to understand).
2. Seeing loved ones waiting for them (and sometimes telling them to turn around because it is not their time).
3. Feeling weightless and unburdened.
4. Feeling total love - a feeling that does not exit here in this life.
5. Hearing the most beautiful music imaginable.
6. Feeling God's love, warmth and presence.
And finally, after they have been revived and stabilized, many of these people go through a depression perion which could last days, weeks or months. They attribute their depression to the fact that the came so close to this perfect place and now they are back in the world of negativity.
There are several cases of Athiests and Agnostics finding religion and/or spirituality following a near-death experience as well since they had such an eye-opening experience.
If their experiences are ture, it is easy for me to see how a person could change thierimmoral behaviors when they feel that God has given them a second chance.

This is true, nothing changes people into the loving non-judgmental people they should be in the first place like impending death or a serious illness. I think when we cheat, lie and hate on people we know it's wrong, and it makes us feel like crap but we can't stop. Nothing changes this quicker than the knowlege that your life can end tomorrow. It's very hard to REALLY adopt the philosophy of "live life like there's no tomorrow" until some tragedy happens to make that a reality,. Look at how this country changed after 9/11. New Yorkers were actually nice to eachother

Coming face to face with your own mortality can have dramatic effects on your personal outlook on life. If it's true that your life flashes before your eyes then maybe some people don't like what they see of themselves because they have an unclouded view of it.
