I'll be fasting pretty soon and I'm worried that I'll be extremely tired or gain wait after not eating for 20 hours a day (no eating anything from 10 PM to 6 PM). I just wants some tips about what to eat after that 20 hour period is up.

Okay... so i am fasting for 20 hours a day--- no eating, no drinking, no nothing--- for about 20 days... it's for the whole Ramadan thing and I'm trying to push my barriers. So, i was wondering if ya'll could give me some tips on what to eat during that extremely small 4 hour period. I dont want to end up packing on 5 pounds after the whole thing.

Fasting has NEVER been a safe alternative to dieting. At the end of the fast, you will be very hungry and may eat more for the first meal than you would have if you had not fasted.
If it took you 6 months to gain 10 pounds....Expect it to take 6 months to take 10 pounds off.
Eat with moderation.

It's really important to keep your fluid intake up during that time. Something like some Gatorade would be good along with lots of water. After your fast, have a planned meal. Nothing greasy or very fatty as it might cause diarrhea. Keep it simple, and don't try to make up for not eating for 20 hours all at once. A regular size meal is best, and if you want to splurge on a dessert would be okay.

You are undertaking a long fast. You should consider doing a few shorter fasts before doing this. If you have done so, then its important to drink plenty throughout the fast. You should consider taking soup for this fast. Without eating for this length of time, it will make you physically and mentally tired so you should ensure that you limit extremes of physical and mental activity, ie don't drive for long periods of time, thats anything over 40mins. Hope this helps.

After the 20 hours you might want to just drink watered down fruit juice, and dry or toasted bread, white bread is easier on the tummy. Proteins or meats will be the hardest on you system.
IF you are allowed water squirt some lemon juice into it, this will help cut the acid in your stomach.
Good Luck

To answer your question, raw vegetables are the best food for getting vitamins, minerals, fiber, and protein. You can remain quite healthy on raw vegetables or raw vegetable juice. I do not however think fasting in the manner you are describing is a good idea. Can you tell us why you are doing this manner of fasting? ~TodaysBest

Lots of veggies. Like after you do it, the next day eat 6 small meals. Don't limit yourself to veggies, but they are great for you and will burn off fast.
