Well I have tried the internet thing but it's not working. and no i don't want to join the navy!!

Do a google search for what the NAVY CALLS THE 'Navy Locator' It is personnel locator service for family members and service members, if you are niether then there is a small fee to conduct the search.

Right now I'm trying to find someone in the Navy. I'll tell you what I've tried.
Red Cross - which was a bust (said you need to contact friends or family)
Navy Worldwide locator (need SSN)
Military.com
MilitaryConnections.com
White Pages
Reunion.com
Who-Remembers-Me.com
Yahoo people search
You also can make a friend with someone in the navy or someone close to someone in the navy and they may assist you. (That's where I am now)

Rather than trying the Red Cross or such, go try The Salvation Army. Back when I was in the Air Force overseas, a buddy of mine needed to get in touch with me. The Salvation Army literally did the impossible and managed to find me in the middle of nowhere.

Just go to your local recruiting office, they can send them a letter, or tell you where they are at. Good Luck
