Avoid drinking beverages which contain caffeine such as coffee and pop(try caffeine free the taste is the same). There are non addictive medications available for anxiety also if this is a reason for no medications for help . When you have an attack remember to breath , count to 2 when breathing in and 4 when breathing out and concentrate on the breathing and forget all else and the feeling often passes in a short time.

Hi

Have you tried taking Bachs Rescue Remedy? Its available from chemists or health food shops and you just put 4 drops under your tongue whenever you start to feel anxious or stressed.

Lavender and camomile oils are also relaxing and calming. Put a few drops in your bath or an oil burner.

Try to avoid caffeine, alcohol and smoking which can all make anxiety worse. Try drinking camomile tea instead.

Try homeopathy - Argent Nit and Aconite are both useful for anxiety but it is best to see a qualified homeopath to get an individual remedy.

Take regular aerobic exercise such as swimming, cycling or walking to release endorphins ( the bodys feel good factor) and reduce stress.

Try yoga or Tai chi which will teach you breathing exercises to relax.

Try complementary therapies such as reflexology or massage to relieve stress and tension and help you to relax.

If none of the above work see a qualified counsellor /psychotherapist to help you recognise and change the patterns of thinking that bring about your anxiety.

Good luck, you've got over your panic attacks, I'm sure you'll soon conquer this as well!

Remember your time when your anxiety attacks began fading away. Isn't that the time when you were relaxed and settling into a more stable lifestyle?

I used to have panic attacks and took stock of my life, knowing that I cannot do everything and so put aside/forget those of non- essential/no importance. Put things into perspective so that you don't end up worrying and being anxious. Be realistic, take time for yourself to chill and do all these calming things that people are suggesting to you if you find it works and suits your needs.

Good luck.

you need to find a piece of music that totally chills you out it can be music or you can buy sounds of the ocean or loads more that really work.Find the part of your house your most relaxed in lying on my bed works for me make sure your alone the first couple of times you do it.I lie on my bed and and listen to my tapes for half an hour exactly for the first few times regardless of what happens - phone rings etc. stay put the more you do it the more your body recognises what your doing and the less time it takes to relax you.its quite hard at first but eventually you will beable to close your eyes and imagine doing this routine and relax regardless of where you are.Your training your body to act in a certain way its like magic and really works so its well worth the effort you have to put in at first. Good luck x

Well, if you also suffer from despression and obesity, I'd reccomend using L5-HTP, a miracle med. that has helped many people greatly. My mom's friend took it and lost over 30lbs, lost her depression and anxiety.

If it is just anxiety, good luck. Most teens won't take pills for it because it inflicts a rapid weight gain. So L5-HTP would be best! I hope this is useful to you! Here is the web address to some info.: http://www.healthydiet-shop.co.uk/enteric-coated-l5htp-p-405.html

I feel for you I really do, also suffer from it and it ruins and rules your life, I wish there was something that could control the release of Adrenilin which creates this awful feeling of wanting to flee and hide!

The thing that helps me is that it's me that creates the feeling so I can make it go just as quick...it just takes time and understanding of what causes the effect from within...it really helps!

Good luck.

Take yourself away from the situation and try to slow your breathing down. This should calm you down. If not, try to focus on something around you and imagine how you would describe it to someone who had never seen it! Sounds odd, but it works!!! Good luck xXx
