My 6 year old brother wont sleep in his own room because of scary movie 3????

My friend and i were watching scary movie 3 and he was watching it but none of us knew. Now every night he comes in my parents bed and they locked it with a hevy sewing machine so he came in my bed around 5:30 in the morning and i didn't get back to sleep. we try to convince him that it wasn't really real and we don't know what to do????

yes they know that he is upset and they know why. When we ask him if he's scared he says "no not really" then when he says yes we ask him why and he tells us. this happened every day scince july 27th. my parents wake up whith pains in thier back because he kicks them in his sleep.

school doesn't start till the 30th of august 4 him so he's gonno go to school exausted because he spends the whole night walking around in the hall way. i am afraid he might not do well in school. also he is snotty in the morning and he might talk back to the teachers.

My 8yr old has a night light for this vary reason. Go find a dollar tree store or wal-mart and get a night light and shut his closet door and close the blinds every night. Let him see you check the doors at night and the windows.
It worked for me.

Of course you can try to talk to your brother about it, but ultimately, your parents are responsible.

You didn't even know he was in the room, however, your parents should have known where he was. Now he's traumatized. They should be the ones comforting him.

I can't believed they put something in front of their door when he is so obviously upset. It's not like he's just being a little boy wanting to sleep with him, this is a different situation.

They need to step up.

any one who tells you to pass the buck to your parents is a fool. kids dont like to listen to there parents when thhey can listen to some one else, trust me, as the oldest of 5 i know. frist of all even you should not have been waching that movie. it is nothing but SIN. next, this is something i had to do with my sister when she went through a time of being scared, right at bed time i let her get in my bed, she would fall asleep beside me, and i would cary her to her bed, she never woke up till we got he up for school the next day, after 2-3 weeks of this she went back to her bed and has done fine.

At 6 years old, he can't tell real from dream...he isn't old enough.

Have you told your parents why he is so scared? They should know....it seems very mean and unfair that they locked him out of their room for being scared.

He is not the one who should be punished....however, whoever was responsible for him while he watched that movie......NOT TOO BRIGHT or RESPONSIBLE......

How did you not know that he was in the room while you were watching that movie ? Your parents are horrible ! I do not care how old my children are. If they are frightened they need to be comforted and not locked out. You two should have made sure that he was in bed.

You blew it letting him watch. When there are little ones like your brother around it is your responsibiliy not his to keep him from harm. So get used to letting sleep in your bed.
