However i would suggest you speak to your local humaine society or local dog shelter, least then you get to met your prospective new best friend in the flesh.

I have rescued 2 of my three and i used petfinder to locate my local shelters, koda my oldest was also listed on there, he had been sitting at the shelter for close to three months and his time was ticking so i think these websites are great for getting attention.

Nanook our youngest i adopted the day i went to go and buy my other two dogs, dog licenses he was sitting in a cage that we walked past on our way to front desk he and Buddy our middle guy wouldn't stop checking each other out. After what seemed like an age we had a dog warden ask us if we wanted to meet they placed us all in an enclosed area to see how well they would all get on, Koda being an old gentleman didn't pay nanook any attention, but for buddy and nonook it was love at first site. Now 6 months later buddy and nanook are always playing together and Koda gets to be a couch potato with mommy and everyone is happy.

Believe me rescuing one dog is worth it.

The best place is at a dog pound or a shelter so they will not be killed. The down side to that is if you were wanting to breed them later on they have usually been spayed or neutered at the shelter or the pound. If you want a really good dog or puppy, that is were I would go.

A shelter is the best place. You will be saving an animal from death if you adopt one of their puppies.

The best place is a nearby humane society or animal shelter. Every pet we have ever owned, we got at "the pound". It's as if they know you have saved their lives and they make the most loving, loyal pets you could ever hope to own! And please, whatever you get....consider spaying or neutering to cut down on the unwanted animal population...just a thought :-) Hope you find just what you're looking for.

if you ahve a shelter near you go there, that way you can save one from getting put to sleep. Or if you have a certian breed in mind find a rescue group and get one from there... just do a google for resuces in your area and see

Your human society should have a web site. Also try freecycle.org. The groups in our area let people list pets.

Try goin' to a dog pound or somethin' first. I'm sure there might be a few pup's that are there. If they don't get rid or any of the animals, they just put them to sleep.
