Children are hard to predict sometimes, dear...A lot of the time they aren't really paying attention to what we're trying to do here anyway. This is an electronic babysitter for some.

This is some people's outlet. Not everyone comes from a close to normal life. To some out here, the only communication they have is by responding to other's questions. And that is not always pleasant, depending on their moods. Yahoo! Answers, is a better place for those that need to vent than climbing a tower, and taking pop shots at people below. Just ignore those, or get to know them. Everyone as a rule needs a friend. I have several friends I have made here. Not all were made on good terms, but its the out come that matters. Right?

Have you ever wondered what so many people find to do on the computer all day long? They used to insult each other in chat rooms. Then they blogged insults to everyone. Just when one thought that people had run out of ways to be rude and mean-spirited to one another, along comesYahoo Answers! A whole new way to put others down, and get points for doing it!There will always be that type of person. We need to just ignore them, then, even if they won't go away, at least we won't be bothered by them.

It depends on the question. If it is an intelligent, well thought-out inquiry into a valid subject, then the responses usually seem to be appropriate. But if it is a ridiculous, inane, low-brow, silly, absurd, you get the point, question, then it usually deserves a ridiculous, inane, low-brow, absurd, sarcastic answer.

This question lies somewhere in between. Since you have probably asked some good questions and obviously gotten some stupid answers, I can see where you would be upset. But the fact that you took the time to post this question, basically sounding like a cry-baby, makes me wonder if you aren't just inviting people to answer in a sarcastic, cutting manner.

Hope that helps.

some people are here for fun and other are trying to help.
but there are sometime a short answer is the best answer. So it depends on your situation.
Plus it is good to read what other people thinks, because your own personal problem might have been ask by someone else already, so go and read them. Maybe you will find an answer you like.

Because it's anonymous.

I'm sure a lot of these people would never respond to a friend or family member the way they do here.

Then there's those in the world that get a kick out of being rude or disrespectful to others.

The bright side of it all though .. there are people who will be genuine in their responses and hope that what they have said will help you in the end.

I guess it's just something we have to deal with in life.

That depends on the type of question being asked. Isn't respect something that's earned, not just given out.
P.S. Have you read some of the questions.
P.P.S. It also depends upon whether the person being disrespectful has any respect for themselves!

Sometimes I leave comical responses to odd or weird questions. Otherwise, I think people leave disrespectful (sometimes gross) answers because they are anonymous and the worst that can happen is that you get kicked off of Yahoo! Answers.

Stupid questions deserve disrespectful answers. I think asking a stupid question is an art form - one I am trying to master. I suspect that any other stupid question I see is from another person practicing my craft, and my answer is intended to encourage, not put down.

BTW - my avatar thinks your avatar is HOT!
