I did this in the sixties. After washing your hair twice, apply the lemon juice and allow it to dry and the hair will be stiff; this will prevent the wind from causing a less than expected job. When you go outside at 10:00 am, you can apply more lemon juice until the hair is almost wet. You repeat this several times when the hair is dried by the sun and warm breezes. After three to four hours, you will be amazed at hoe nice it looks. It beats using harmful chemicals and the juice is good for the scalp.

Just because Lemon Juice is "natural" doesn't mean its the best product to use on your hair. It's likely to strip your hair of necessary oils, leaving it unprotected and easily damaged. My advice? MUSTACHE BLEACH. It's made to be gentle enough to use on a woman's face, you know how some women have a little fuzz over the lip. This is a delicate area and often the better choice is to lighten the little hairs, rather than pluck or shave. I don't have a mustache but I really needed to do something with my dull brown hair. I figured if it's gentle enough for the face its probably safe to use on the rest of my head. (You can buy it at the drugstore, grocery store, Walmart, etc. Brand name is "Jolen" but most also have generic. Small white box with green lettering. About 4 dollars.) The beauty is you mix only as much as you need each time. 1 part powder to 3 parts cream, I think. (read instructions) I put a few streaks in first, loved the results. Easy touch-up as hair grows out. Loving it still, four years later.

This is a clasic trick for lightening your hair natually. Take some lemon juice, mix it with a little bit of water, and put the mixture into a spray bottle. Whenever you are going to lay out in the sun, spray the mixture onto your hair, comb through, and lay out. If you get this mixture wet, or get chlorine on your hair, you will not get the desired results. Do this for a few days until your hair has lightened a bit.

Get a spray bottle fill with lemon juice and water. Shake it all up and spray in your hair. Sit in the sun for a few hours and your hair will be lighter.

You can use lemon juice and set in the direct sunlight to lighten your hair, but I find it easier just to use SUN IN. This is a product that lightens your hair fast and you don't have to burn yourself to a chrisp by sitting in the sun. You can get SUN IN at most major department stores for $5 or under. It really works.

It will lighten your hair but it also may damage it. I've heard that the best way to lighten is a mix of equal parts of vodka, lemon juice and water.

Lemon juice eats away at your hair so don't lighten it with it!

Please go to a salon and get those sun kissed highlights your lookin' for. Sun-in may ruin your hair in the long run..unless you get it cut every month and lots of it. I saw hair permed over sun-in and it turned to mush and broke off. Lemon juice is uncontrollable and very hard to predict. Sorry.
