I'm sure he is still alive, Iraq is not the beaches of normandy only a few hundred marines have died there... however, look on military.com go to military friend finder, or just do a search for that. You'll need to know his ssn. Good luck and I am sure (unless extremely unlucky) he is fine.

Try this web-site, it has a buddy finder. You will have to become a member of the site, but it's free. www.military.com
You could try the Red Cross, but they will not tell you where he is. What they will do is try to get a message to him that you are looking for him. Usually they need to have the unit name and his address to send him a Red-Cross message, but if you don't know it they will still try to find him. Good Luck.

P.S.- I know this is sad, but you can also look for his name on here, it's a list of those killed in the war: http://edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/
I really, really hope your friend's name is not on here.

Well, the easiest way would be to invade a small country I would think... ;) Other than that...

How can I get information about a current/former Marine?
All current and former Marines can access this information at the following link:

The easiest way is to write a letter to your friend andtake it to your local recruiting office. The people there may not know anything, but they can definately forward the letter for you. without knowing his unit, it may take a while for it to be delivered to him, but it will get there. Most likely, it will take some 4-8 weeks to find him.
