Virus's, anti-virus programs, too much music downloads, freezing, I'm tired of paying a sh#t-load for someone to come to my house to fix everything. How can I take care of these things myself? Without getting ripped off? I have a logitech, isn't that supposed to be a good system?

The best thing you can do is learn as much about your "personal confuser" as you can. First, Logitech makes peripherals (like a mouse, printers, etc) so I don't think your system is a Logitech, it's probably a Dell, Compaq, HP, etc. Find out the brand and model and then go searching on the internet for information. You can also learn things from sites such as http://www.callforhelptv.com/
or http://www.cnet.com/
Now to a couple of the problems you mentioned.. If you have a cable modem or DSL it is imparitive that you have a firewall if your cable company does not provide one (mine didn't). I downloaded a free program called Zone Alarm http://www.zonealarm.com/ You can also pay for a version but I use a free one and it's done just fine for me. It includes an anti-virus program. I find it easy to use.
If you're having a lot of problems with your computer freezing up it may be time to invest in more RAM memory. Or it may be that you have too many programs running in the background. Many programs (for instance AOL Instant Messenger) will load every time you load Windows if you don't tell it not to. Remember, all those little programs can take a lot of processor power.
I know I've written a lot. I just hope it helps. I've been there and I've learned a lot because of it.
Good luck.

You can try doing the following:

Start, settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs...Remove all the programs that you no longer use or need.

Clean out the temporary files in the Temp folder. Delete cookies and Temporary Internet files. Move all your music files and picture files and other files to an external hard drive or burn a CD. Keep as little as possible on your system.

Run Defragmenter and then a Virus Scan.

In all else fails, back up the computer files and then reformat and reinstall.

I am not sure how much they charge where you live but the going rate for a small company that does such work is about $70 to $80 per hour.

Never heard of a logitech computer, but, my logitech webcam won't let my toshiba boot up if I leave it plugged into the usb port.. However, I'd ask you, how much ram do you have? Do you have your spyware and adware and anti-virus programs set up on a schedule so that they run at night, while you're not online?
You shouldn't have to be paying to get your puter fixed, and, while running those programs yourself is a hassle, better to have them in place than to have your puter fried..
good luck

Your problem has been answered by your own question. I logitech is a mouse and/or a keyboard. You don't know anything about computers and should learn the basics about them before you go online.

You should get a Mac. It is a lot more reliable and can save you $$$ because it is less likely to get a break down.

Calm down lilybear. Maybe you should get some little kid to come over and take a look at it. Little kids seem to know everything about computers.
