it certainly is and for a book over 200 years old it is remarkably fresh to read and with an insight which still has impact today!!! How sad he died being almost completely rejected by the people he gave his amazing support to....

Paine was a British taxman whose thoughts & opinions were largely responsible for forming the wonder that is America today. I'm glad you enjoyed his writing. The man was a genius.
Did you know he wrote "The Age of Reason" while in jail in France? I believe that's right. What a guy!

Also wrote common sense and was George Washington's favorite author.

I have. It's a good read, though fairly abrasive. LOL Has very good arguments that Deism is more reasonable than Christianity.

I've read parts of it, but I find the style difficult to keep interest. Writers of that time tended to be needlessly verbose.
