Although I had no right to be mad for some reason I was. I jokingly mentioned it to him and he got to explaining why it was there how long it had been there and I just never paid attention then he took it and through it away. Why do you think he felt the need to explain let alone throw it out. When were just (friends)?

Probably the same reason you got mad. Both of you probably have deeper feelings for each other or at least that whole territorial thing going on. And this is me personally talking here, but thats why I never liked the ideal of friends with benefits because too many feelings get involved even though the ppl involved in the situation think its just sex. And its not just that after so many times of being together.

He felt the need to explain it just like you felt the need to get mad and casually bring it up. You know you were upset even though you had no right to be and he felt like he should explain because he feared you might stop giving up the asss if he would have told you that you ain't nothing but a ***** buddy to him and you can't say anything...
So really, that's all it was. You know that gown wasn't there cuz we women know stuff like that.

By throwing away showed that he treasures u. But you have to feel by his expression that is he sincere or trying to hide or trying to act to cheat u. Only you know better. Watch out again to see in future is there any such fishy things around him. If yes then probably he is up with something behind you. You may wish to choose to trust him and believe in what he said. In this way, you will feel more relax instead of having to check on him. If I were you, I will choose to feel relax.

Doesn't sound like it, but then it doesn't sound like you're in a committed relationship either, so he has the right to do as he pleases if your not WITH each other doesn't he?
You either need to accept you may not be the only person he's sleeping with, or have talk about the feelings you have for him.

the chick he was doing, would say NO if the answer was wrong! Duh. That is you. That's clear to anyone. Bet that nightgown is in a drawer somewhere in that house right now, as a trophy from another "friend". quick to reply always implies!

Quite possibly he was telling the truth... but on the other hand perhaps someone else is benefiting from his friendship.

First off is that all you really want is just friendship with this guy or do you want to be more? If you want more then tell him. If your not fooling around and you don't want him to fool around then you need to tell him.
