Amen. Christ is the head of the Church not denominations or religious laws, and we are to follow after him and what He spoke. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ following after the same goal to serve him who gave his life for us.

Why give God all the glory?
Why are you a Jesus freak if you want to give God all the glory? (You shouldn't give some of it to his self-proclaimed son then).
Does God like to receive all the glory? Is he really that narcissistic?
I believe he's humble and he wants us to spend our time better than to waste it on praising and worshipping him.
Actually, my God doesn't want anything.. wanting, seeing, judging, those are human and animal traits.. traits of mere mortals.. God is not human-like. God is everything (thus nothing in particular). God is energy, God is everything that is, God is all there is. God is in you and me, and everything else that exists.
The world spins, and natural events can be described by (statistical) consistencies that can be scientifically generalized in formulas. None of these scientific formulas include God as a parameter, thus the world goes it's marry way without any noticable or measurable factor 'God'. Thus, there's nothing that indicates he influences things, or it's unnoticably insignificant.. otherwise natural processes and outcome would've been much more irregular and unpredictable than things seem to be, to the degree that we can oversee all factors of influence.
NOT HE WHO CLAIMS TO KNOW THE TRUTH, BUT HE WHO QUESTIONS IT, WILL BE THE CLOSEST TO THE REAL TRUTH.
So all you religious freaks who think you know better because it's all you really got brainwashed with, are furthest from the truth.
If this is how you use your brain, then, if there is a God, you'll be a total disgrace to him. I'm sure he expects more from the brains he gave you than to become a following sheep.
At least there are religions that EMBRACE science and consider it a DUTY to RESEARCH, QUESTION and NOT believe without it. A religion that claims to be THE TRUTH, and tells you to stop thinking, and start believing and following, can't be any good.
There are different denominations, disagreement and more, because religion is based on beliefs, dogmas. For it being just a belief, people sure can hang on to it more strongly than universally accepted facts. That is misguidance right there.
Amen

If you study the origin of various denominations you usually find some guy who thought everyone else was wrong and he and he alone was able to follow the Spirit of Truth... in short, denominations are creations pompous, self-righteous, bigots. Denominations are evidence of how easily we brake down and follow the fancies of our own desires. They are a show of weakness.
However, Jesus did set up the apostles to be the leaders of his church and Jesus did pray that his followers would be one as He and the Father are one. And Paul would admonish the Corinthians for splintering their ranks: "I am of Apollos." "I am of Paul." Was Christ divided?? No the early church believed that Christians should not divide. But as we see in Paul's letters the church was already experiencing doctrinal controversy.
I too would like to see God glorified through the unity of believers. However what tests would be used to determine the winners?

Dude are you asking or recruting? The different denominations are because the original founders split from the original church because they interpreted the Scriptures differently and felt that thier views were more accurate. All it is is a bunch of Christians disagreeing about how to do the same thing....worship their God.

We belong to different denominations because humans naturally congregate with others who believe as they do. Just like you make friends easily with people who share your same interests. Ex: if you are the quiet, silent type it can be uncomfortable around people who llike to shout or speak in tongues.
Ex: If you think baptism means immersion it would be hard to just be sprinkled.
Ex: If you think you can pray directly to Jesus and that He is the only one that can hear our prayers and that salvation comes when you are old enough to know right from wrong then it would be hard to worhip where they pray to saints and believe sprinkling holy water on an infant saves the child from hell.
Funny example: I once sang with a Christian group and we always said we'd go to any church that invited us. I am white, Baptist, and at the time about 30. We sang in Assemblies of God, Holiness, black churches, etc. We had no problems with any of that. We have seen people slain in the spirit, speak in tongues, dancing for God, sitting quietly with their heads bowed in prayer, eyes closed with their hands raised to God, etc. But once we sang at this so called church that was located in an empty frame house. After the first verse of the first song, people were so loud we couldn't even hear our drummer. (Yeah, some Baptist groups have drummers) One woman that was huge (8 months pregnant ) and was reeling around and about to be slain in the spirit. This was all after one verse, we hadn't even gotten to the chorus. We were all very uncomfortable and we felt strange and weird. Something just didn't sit right. We finished (a little earlier than planned) and decided we had learned a valuable lesson and would get more information before we went to churches we had never heard of. About 2 months later we learned that one of the young girls in the church was pregnant by their preacher. He taught the members of his church that sex outside marraige was sinful, UNLESS IT WAS WITH THE PREACHER.
There is no way I could follow that denomination. I know that if they believe in Christ as their Savior that they, too, will be in heaven with me. But their "doctrine" is so different from mine that I would rather be with
a congregation that believes more like I do.

You are absolutely right--the Word is very explicit in warning about man made laws--since there is soooo many different denominations with a little truth in each-----but I know the WHOLE TRUTH.

I don't think we should have different denominations we all read one Bible and if we all follow the Bible we would all be one.
But of course some denominations come up with there own traditions which aren't even mentioned in the Bible and if there are mentioned in the Bible they are forbidden.
The bible states that in the latter times people will follow the doctrine of devils. Eg, confirmation and bowing down to idols of Mary ect.

Just a point, the word Catholic means "all embracing," or essentially non-denominational. Protestants are welcome home any time they want to come back.
