I know Honda Civics are more expensive, but are they a better deal/safer then Corrolas?

I am a new driver and my dad is interested in buying one of these two cars for me/my family. We can't decide which would be better.. Also, we are looking for long-term quility, because my little sister will learn to drive in it as well! And gas mileage is important too, cause I am broke and will be paying for my own gas!

First off there are more Toyota dealers nationwide than Honda dealers, so check in your area for which is more available. The Civic's base price is about $1,000 more than the Corolla, but the Civic has more standard features like ABS brakes. They are both about the same on fuel consumption, but the Civic has a few more ponies under the hood. The Corolla has a larger trunk space than the Civic, but other than that the dimensions are similar. Both of these cars last and last if taken care of, but most people believe the Honda Civic outlast the Corolla.

Well I learned to drive in a Honda Civic and I loved it. They also are very good cars because my moms drove one that she bought brand new and drove it over 400,000 miles and then she sold it. It is still running with another owner. Toyota also makes good cars. Honda's are stolen often and the Corolla LE gets 41 hwy miles to the gallon with having the same power of a gasoline vehicle and not a hybrid.

Get a Focus or a Mazda 3, much better I think. If it's a choice between the corolla or the civic I'd choose the civic.

gas mileage is also excellent in them..insurance is also cheaper...

it will be also MUCH easier to sell a honda when it comes time...they hold there value much better then the toyota

Honda is the most stolen car, you might want to put in consderation. I like the Corrola, Ithink they are bigger but both are reliable.
