You cannot make others happy until you are happy with yourself. You have to know and love yourself first before you can make others happy. So learn to love yourself first, of course this may mean you should do what will make someone else happy if it makes you happy to do so.

little bit of both. Working to make other people happy will give you some happiness as well but you need to balance it with time for just you, doing things that you need, giving yourself alone time, etc.

Making others happy makes me happy. Seriously, when I do something that makes someone happy, especially someone I care about (my daughter, girlfriend, parents, friend, etc), it makes me feel good.
