This was my daughter's favorite last year in Kindergarten. I'd get plain flour tortillas, put a bit of pizza sauce on it, then some shredded cheese, then put another tortilla on top and cut it into wedges. Or you can just roll it up and cut it into little slices. There is a pizza sauce called Pizza Squeeze, it's in a bottle that you can store in the fridge once it's opened. Any kind of tomato sauce is good for kids, it's full of vitamins then she'll get calcium and protein from the cheese, and if she'll eat them, you can use whole wheat tortillas instead of white ones. Throw in some carrots and ranch sauce or some apple slices with a little bit of peanut butter to dip them in and she'll be good to go. You can send her with a juice box or a small carton of milk, partially freeze them and they'll still be cold but thawed out by lunch, don't freeze them all the way though or they probably won't thaw, I tried this once.

Here is a cute idea. My mom used to send me to school with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on white bread. She'd take food coloring and put little smiley faces and hearts on the bread and then all the other girls would want to see what kind of message my mom left for me at lunch! Add a small piece of fruit to that and maybe a fruit juice drink and you have a healthy meal.

My daughter just started kindergarten, and we're having the same problem. She's kind of a picky eater too. We got her a lunchbox that is made of a vinyl-like material instead of metal like the old ones, and it has a water bottle in it. We've been freezing juice in it (the ones with the lowest sugar), to help keep other articles cold, and by lunchtime it's thawed enough for her to drink. We've sent peanut butter and jelly that we made into shapes with a cookie cutter, grapes, applesauce, fruit, and chips. So far she seems to like it and eats most of it. Good luck!

try turkey sandwiches made with whole wheat bread, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. then maybe a bag of grapes, apple slices, or some other kind of fruit. for a little crunchy snack, honeymade graham crackers or teddy grahams are a good choice instead of potato chips or cookies. for a drink try juice that is made with 100% pure fruit with no perservatives. i hope that helps!

Take celery and stuff it with organic peanut butter.
Take slices of turkey breast and roll them up, send with a lowfat dipping sauce like mustard or ranch.
Yogurt with apple slices.
Lowfat cottage cheese with berries.
Roll up ham slices and put sticks of pineapple in the middle.
Send her with a nutritious cereal, milk and boiled eggs.

I would think little sandwiches, in different shapes would be cute. exp. Make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and use a cookie cutter to make a star. My little cousin likes the baby carrots and dip. It makes her feel like its big kid food, because she gets to dunk. have her help you make it,annd then you might get some idea's from her too.
