Because you have values and morals and know that if you are scared to have sex just for one hot night, then obviously you have self-respect and want a deeper relationship before having sex with a person.
You should be proud of yourself.......

You may be afraid of getting something that you can not get rid of. Or you are afraid you might like sex and want it more and more. Or you are afraid it will hurt and that your feelings will change about this person.
I can not tell you to have sex, but if you are out to do it then make sure you bring your own protections. Carry many condoms, a KY jelly.
Practice safe sex if you can not wait otherwise wait until your wedding day and make it a special thing between you and your husband

Because you are just like i was scared you are going to have feelings for that person and they wont feel the same. i use to didnt have sex with guys unless we were friends or real cool because sex does bring on feeling and when your feelings are hurt its the worst feeling you can ever go threw.

if you have sex with someone, it does mean something intimate and fundamental, even if you don't want it to
if you pretend that you can have sex casually for physical gratifaction without other conseqences, you will merely hurt yourself and others
listen to your smart self
treat sexual relations as special, intimate, emotional experiences
do not go down the miserable road of promescuity

Sex is sharing emotions, spiritual commonality, and physical attration. The world would have you believe it is only physical - for that reason sex is empty if their is no emotional or spiritual connection. That is another reason why sex is wonderful within a marriage.
