For example, if I work out in the morning for an hour and a half, then after lunch I feel energized to go again, is that going to make the weight come off faster? Or should I just stick with once a day? I need to lose 2 pounds at least per week until Christmas.

I do need to tone up some too, especially my arms, and stomach. I have had 4 kids, and it takes a toll, so now that I am done, I need to slim down, and tone up. I have been eating right; been reading the Dr. Phil 7 keys to weight loss freedom, and have been following his suggested diet. I just dont want to burn myself out, but I also REALLY want to do this. Let me know what sort of exercises I can do for my flabby arms. I have buff biceps, but flab under! Augh! :Z p.s. I have already lost 6 pounds in a week and a half.

If you can do more, do more. Most people couldn't handle an hour a day, let alone more, so if the risk of burning yourself out isn't there, then I would suggest doing as much cardio as you can, provided you get sufficient nutrients. As for weight training, that's a great thing to incorporate into any fat burning routine, because muscle burns fat. I suggest weight training 3 days per week, but no more (overtraining is counter-productive when it comes to weight lifting). I used to do cardio in the morning, and lift weights in the afternoon. If you're female, you don't need to worry about "bulking up" like the other poster suggested. Women don't get freakish world wrestling federation bodies without serious steroids. Good luck!

2 pounds a week is easy. No you shouldn't work out two times in one day.

Do waits for an hour, and split up what you do, so like mon wed fri do a few muscle groups, and on tues thur sat another muscle group.

Run a half hour to 45 4-5 days a week as well. It doesn't matter which you do first, but most people seem to like running in the morning to give you some energy for the rest of the day.

Also low fat, low carb meals. Alot of fish chicken egg whites.

Maybe you should ask a professional rather than some random strangers over the web.

My hunch is that if you are already doing an hour a day of vigorous cardio, adding a second hour will probably not be of as much help as watching your diet.

more calories burned equals faster weight loss. keep in mind though that by doing this you will also bulk up. depending on your workout routine. muscle weighs heavier than fat so keep that in mind if you find yourself weighing more than you did before.

Yes, it means you'll be burning that many more calories since you'll be working out twoce a day.

your priority is to lose weight, not get fit, so stick to once a day otherwise you will burn out and lose interest

This would be ok but I wouldn't do the same things both sessions.
