Hey i just finish reading the book Lolita today. To be honest I ALMOST CRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although Humbert Humbert was a pedophile he really did love lolita. Every inch and " every pore" of her as he said. I just thought it was soo sad. He didn't really abuse her. Like Lolita herself was kind of a slut. If you think about it. SHE CHEATED ON HUMBERT. He fed her, entertained her, gave her education and even made love with her ( WHICH SHE WANTED IN SOME SENSE, " IM FEELING RATHER ROMANTIC TONIGHT" is what she said to get sex from him in one chapter. I mean she went off with another guy, did child pornagraphy for a isane retart, SHE IS A SLUT, I ALMOST CRIED WHEN i read " Hot tears ran down my cheeks" said by Humbert. Look he was a little insane and had bad thoughts no doubt, but doesn't every guy? ALL MEN ARE DIRTY IN SOMEWAY OR ANOTHER!!!!! I CAN BE HONEST AND SAY I AM! ARE YOU NOT!. But the fact that Lolita Cheated.... WHY LOLITA WHYYYY YOU DON"T DESERVE IT

BURN IN HELL YOU LI WITCh

They said in the book countless times that Lolita had a amazing IQ. Look she was like 14 i think she knew just the what heck was going on between her and Humbert. And besides you can tell that humbert does have an illness. He NEVER hurt anyone though. He had dreams and thoughts but never executed them. Untill Lolita led him on he only liked to enjoy the sight of Nymphets. I just really think that Lolita was a spoiled brat and a s**LUT. She is such a friggin sl***ut. HUMBERT DID LOVE HER. Not just cause she was a child. He said her body can dry up and crack and that he would still love her. Humbert lost a love in his childhood and that really screwed him up. He doesn't try to make himself look good. He is honest about every thought he had. DIRTY ONES EVEN. So maybe Lolita had a mom and a house before he came...
Lolita didn't even care much about the mother and she was so over herself. I WOULD HAVE SHOT HER TOOK THE BABY AND SHOT THE HUSBAND AND KILL THE CHILD MOLESTOR WHICH HUM WASN"T

I agree too, she did lead him on. There isn't much you can do, about ones emotions. They can take over your mind, and make you do stupid things.
The fact that she was underage, is no excuse for her behaviour. She knew what she was doing, and took advantage of his sickness.
He wasn't a pedophile chasing after her, although he lusted in his heart. She led him on, and caused his downfall. If she had been a decent girl, she would have rejected him, immediately, and he would have been left with his dreams. Dirty though they may have been.

Um....okaaay.... It's just a book. I read it, watched the movie and even though I sympathize with Humbert (because I had a crush on my art teacher who was 10 years older than me) Hum still did wrong. Lolita is still a child who doesn't know anything about life. She may like Humbert, but everyone had a crush on a teacher or someone older than they are at some point. It is the adult's responsibility not to go around screwing children. Because no matter how great an author Nabokov is, he can't make pedophilia a "cool" or ok thing to do.....( I do get your point though...Lolita was a B$%^ )

a million. Humbert contemplates discarding Lol at the same time as she improve older, yet because the e book progresses he turns into very possessive. He begins rather to plot to take her to Mexico and characteristic a daughter which includes her. you may imagine what his plans were for the daughter. 2. There are 2 colleges of theory. some view Lolita as manipulative, wise and as having seduced Humbert for her own motive. through making him sense accountable over what they were doing at the same time, she held skill over him. on the different hand, she became all of eleven years old at the same time as the affair all started (in the e book. The action picture bumped it as a lot as a more desirable "ideal" 14). She became a baby, and she had no kin left or factors. and she might want to no longer actually have realized she had any concepts; i do not comprehend how a lot they taught youngsters about molestation in the 50s and 60s. So even even with the undeniable fact that she knew that what had exceeded off became incorrect, she also did not see herself as having any options. She became waiting for Clare Quilty to rescue her from him, remember.

For heaven's sake - the whole story is told by Humbert Humbert, of course he makes himself look good - he's a child molester. You can't trust anything he says.

Though he does let slip that every time they have sex Lolita cries.

He takes her away from everything she knows, of course she plays up to him - without him she has nothing. He has no right to expect anything from her, including fidelity, since everything he does for her and her mother is to further his plan to have sex with her.

She is not suffering saint but she can't be blamed for anything she does after he rips her life apart.

I also felt sorry for Humbert at the end of Lolita. He truly loved her and cared for her - and she screwed him in the end.
