Jesus is not a phonetic translation of the real name of the Messiah, Yashua. That would translate to Joshua into Jesus.

I am fully aware that Jesus is the English transliteration of the Greek name "Iesous". It still doesn't answer the question. A name is a name. It still doesn't explain where the Greek transliteration comes from. Biblical scholars say the Messiah was called Yahoshua or Ya'shua, which means savior. The question is valid because who should ask who are we really worshipping (2 Corinthians 11:4 "For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or [if] ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with [him]."

Not an intelligent question , if you study you know Jesus was a English translation for a Greek word Iesous, and there are no J 's in many languages. and I might clarify one thing the word "Name" that you are quoting meant "Authority" only in the Authority of Jesus, Iesous , will your prayers be heard. If I say in the Name of the Law, I am saying in the Authority of the Law. hope this helps.

Yeh is true, and the same applies to "Christ" which is a sort of Greek translation for Messiah ! you see am sure when Jesus will return, which is quite soon by the way, he wouldn't recognise the Christians as they will be calling him Jesus which he never heard, he will be like What ? Who ???!!!
