Because we are assumed to have no morality or ethics--never mind that religion and morality can be two exclusive things. Or we are assumed to "secretly believe" but just deny it because we "are in love with sin". As though we go around murdering, raping, and defiling churches in our spare time. Or constantly getting high, having unrestrained sex, and listening to Heavy Metal or Punk all the time.
We don't believe in a sky-fairy standing over our shoulder with a baseball bat called "Hell" to make us behave. I'd say that makes us more moral, not less. We don't have to be frightened or cowed into good behavior. It comes to us naturally, not because of a God.

I enjoyed the film. It was done very well, and is very persuasive. I am a Christian. I think by and large the elements that deal with belief and how they associate with government roles boils down to the fact that you people (in a completely non derogatory way i assure you) are such a minority. If I can rouse votes from ninety something percent of the people by irritating the other ten, then as a politician that's the smartest move, whether or not it's right. I disagree with some of the statements that guy made, but overall very good piece.
As far as why you are treated differantly I think it boils down to your not believing in the thing that so many completely base their lives upon. And some of you not only disagree, you resort to rhetoric, saying sometimes completely inaccurate statements over and over for the emotional response it lends to your side. Hitler once said that if you say a lie long enough, loud enough that everyone will believe it. By and large religious people are not less intelligent than your average atheist, most religious people are not violent, and though many religious people are ignorant of their own beliefs to a large degree, science and other beliefs as well, that doesn't mean that we all are. So the idea that there are no legitimate resons for belief gets bandied around, and that frustrates anyone of us who has compelling reasons, and who does not fit the parameters of the stereotypes.
As a Christian, let me apologize to you for anytime that someone under the name of God has mistreated you, or said harmful things to you. You should be treated as a person, and along with that given the same respect and dignity that everyone else deserves. We can disagree and discuss our disagreement amicably.

that vid is amazing athiests are third rate citisans in there owen country all because the usa is ruled by the churches it is about time some of the laws in some states got changed as i have said before the christian want to run the planet

I agree that it's wrong on an absolute level.
HOWEVER, to address some specific issues
The US COnsitution gives inalinealble rights to each state not covered by the Constitution, hence EACH state has a right to enact religious laws, such as UTAH.
Utah has a Mormon Majority and the US imposed on them a ban against pologyamy, however the Mormon Majority wants other things and gets them on a states rights basis.
Massachuessets is marrying Gays, based on a states rights basis. Should we ban that?

What "group" of people in America hasn't been treated differently at some time? Women, black people, hispanics, handicapped people, blind, deaf, christian, muslim, fat people,asian, jew, old, etc. I could go on and on, but I won't.
