19Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
Righteousness Through Faith
21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, - I believe works are important to the Christian life, but as a gift to God, not as a punishment to avoid Hell.

Because faith without works is dead. Actions speak louder then words. lets say a guy that you have been dating for a year says everyday that he loves you. But then he beats you and abuses you, would you then still believe that he loves you? I sure wouldn't. I would say it's all talk. same with faith. if you say I believe and then go out and do what you want and not obey then how would the lord truly believe that you have faith and believe when you actions say you don't?

Well I think most people would like to think that if they do good things for others, and deny God and Jesus then they will still go heaven. You know the truth, and that is most important. It is your duty to tell those who genuinely want to know. To deny we are saved by faith is to deny God and his grace toward us. This gift of grace came to us through Jesus Christ who died for our sins. So you see, if people dont belive in that, then they are denying all things that come from God. Its a really broad thing that stretches beyond the basic thought that good deeds will get u into heaven. If you take some time and really think about the impact of these thoughts and the chain of events it sets off then you will understand how important it is in the big picture to, to acknowledge Gods saving grace. Think about it!

Praise god for you Girl this is the difference between a Christian and a Religious person. We are saved By Faith and it is a Gift but we are the ones to use it. and if it is not used it is useless..and with this Faith we become Abraham's Seed and heirs to the Promise made to Abraham. By God.
also in James it talks about Faith with out works is dead it means Faith with out use is dead Kritikos

Read the book of James again the first or second chapter. You show me your faith without works and I'll show you my faith by my works. Faith is an action word not something that is spoken from the lips with the utterance of a lazy tongue. Faith is lived everyday and shown by the things we do and the commandments we follow and the actions we repent of.

Read on and you will see that works are important. Faith and works, in balance. Works alone will not earn anyone their salvation, salvation is a gift. Works are conducted, out of love, for the good of others, not the person doing them.

it says by faith, but not by faith alone.
it states even more clearly that we are saved through both faith and works.
it says very clearly in James:
even demons have faith that jesus is lord and tremble.
james also says something like "who is the better christian when a sick man comes, the one who says 'Bless you' or the one who feeds him and brings him to health?"
and of course dont forget the "faith without works is dead"
so try reading james.
revelations- they were judged on their deeds, written in the book of life
abraham wasn't justified by faith alone, he obeyed God and tryed to sacrafice his son, when he tired that 'good work' of obeying God showed his faith and justified him.

Well some churches like Baptist, pentecostal and other teach saved by grace. While other churches teach good works. Not everyone follows the Holy Bible. Some take bits and pieces and use it to form their own religion.

Yes we are saved by faith but not by faith alone.
We are saved by grace alone, since it is a free gift, salvation.
btw even to say "I believe in you Jesus" is an act, a work, a work of faith.

You have to have faith. Good works without faith is meaningless, and vice versa. A person can have faith and be a serial killer. I think both are supposed to be present, You can't pick and choose.

James 217 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
If you have faith your works will reflect what you have faith in.
Revelation 22:12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his WORK shall be.
