Does a minor need a PARENT or just an ADULT with them when crossing the mexico boarder?

Does the minor need a parent and/or legal guardian when crossing the mexican boarder? or will a non blood related adult work?

Mexican law is pretty strict... they need both parents or notarized permission from one or both to travel. The letter must state the name of the adult authorized to travel with the minor.

Parent or guardian I am pretty sure. Even then if they are strict about it (more likely on a plane) if it is only one parent they will want authorization from the other parent or certified documentation showing you have sole custody.

It is due to child kidnappings and the Hague Convention.

Honey, I don't know why you want to know but there are alot of kids that go the journey by themselves. Coyotes sometime use the children for other purposes than to reunite with their family. It is really sad what a family will do to try and be together, and to have a decent life.

When I crossed with the church, we just walked over. No relatives or papers but that 10 years ago.

You need nothing if you are just going there to the border but if you want to go further in to Mexico he will need pass port and so forth just like going Europe
