Ok my girlfriend and I are great. when christmas comes around we would be dating for around 6 months. I was thinking that if things keep going the way they are I would get her a promise ring. would that fit the timing? I dont want her to freak or anything. please help it has been on my mind lately...

Christmas isn't the best time, a promise ring shouldn't be given as a gift for a holiday or birthday. If you want to do it around that time do it on new years. But i would think of something else to give her on Christmas.....

MAYBE YOU SHOULD START OFF WITH SOMETHING A LITTLE LESS...FORWARD, I GUESS JEWELRY IS A GOOD WAY TO START TO SEE WHAT REACTION YOU MIGHT GET NEXT TIME AROUND LIKE GET HER A REALLY NICE NECKLACE OR WATCH SOMETHING REALLY NICE AND SEE HOW SHE REACTS IF ITS THE RESPONSE YOUR LOOKING FOR THEN ON VALENTINES DAY GIVE HER THE RING CAUSE HONESTLY SIX MONTHS IS A LITTLE SOON TO BE PROMISING ANYTHING BESIDES FRIENDSHIP YOU STILL REALLY DON'T KNOW HER THESE ARE THE HONEY MOON STAGES AND BESIDES LIKE YOU SAID YOU DON'T WANT TO FREAK HER OUT. NOT ALL WOMEN ARE IN A HURRY LIKE YOU MEN THINK IF MY BF HAD GIVEN ME A PROMISE RING ON OUR FIRST CHRISTMAS TOGETHER (MIND YOU WE MET IN JANUARY) I WOULD HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT HIM LIKE OKAY RED FLAG!!! Get her an engagement ring but pretend it's just a christmas present. After you've made the wedding arrangements and sent the invitations, tell her the truth, and she'll feel too guilty to refuse.
