Most will be disgusted with this (I, myself even am), but I've always been considered underweight. I am tired of it, and I'd like to gain 15-20 lbs. I'm 5'9" and I weigh only 115 lbs. This is not due to an eating disorder--the only one i might have is compulsive over-eating. Often times I eat even more than my boyfriend. Nothing seems to help me gain weight though. Any suggestions?
I even tried to fill myself with as many calories as possible in 1 day and all that did was make me feel sick.
My Dr. says that I'm at my body's natural weight. All indications are that I'm healthy--I'd just rather not be so skinny...

You have a naturally fast metabolism so your body needs more calories than the average person. I wouldn't suggest you overreat and eat a bunch of junk food. You probably wouldn't gain weight and with time it could have bad health consequences like heart disease, etc... You need to eat 5 to 6 healthy meals a day and combine that with some heavy weight training a minimum of 2 to 3 times a week with some light cardio. You want to add muscle to your body, not fat. You will gain some fat with the muscle but that is just how your body works. Check out the book "Muscle Building Nutrition" on page 4 of www.MyFitnessLibrary.com . It has information on eating to gain muscle, supplements, and a workout program. Hope that helps.

I use to have that problem too and people were really hateful to me because I was so skinny. Age has pretty much remedied the problem but when I was younger I used to drink weight gain between meals to add extra pounds on. It didn't add too many on for me but at least it kept my weight up a little bit. Past those two things, as long as your healthy don't worry about it so much. We are all made in different shapes and sizes. Can't we all just be healthy.

I would say you should eat more red meat. And, on top of that, eat healthy stuff like natural or organic beef, but I don't know for sure.
If you want to gain weight, you need to build muscle, not fat. And if your body isn't set-up for muscle building, then you can only become fat, and once you gain 20 pounds of fat, you'll simply be asking us how to lose it.
So be careful. That's all I'm saying.
And eat healthy red meat. That should include only healthy fats which may procure the desired effect.

try building some muscle, it weighs more than fat and is not so 'bulky'. do some light free weights or better yet go to a gym and talk to a trainer cause that's their business. You must remember that as one ages one holds on to the weight more readily so it could be just that you are rather young and so the weight will come when your older, say thirties or so?(just a guess it would vary from person to person)

Eating fat filled foods is not a bright choice and might not guarentee weight gain. Less eating will slow your metabolism down. Your body does what it needs to survive, so when less food goes in, it cuts back and uses less. Side effects will be less energy and possibly moodiness. Or you can just wait until your older, your metabolism will gradually slow. Most girls envy your fast metabolism and would trade you any day though.

Enjoy this. But if you must. . . . use only the tv remote. Don't walk at all. Eat lots of sugar, cookies, ice cream. Develop diabetes. But this may kill you.
