To give you some background, ive been a divorced single mother for 4 yrs, i get asked out usually weekly but never take anyone up on it. You could say im scared of relationships or/and committment, so instead of waiting to be picked up on i asked a friend to have a gentleman call me that i knew was an awsome single dad, caring, sensitive, ect. So he called me and we talked on the phone about 10 times in a month and had really deep conversations. Everything from dating to marriage, kids, responsiblity, work, future plans. When the conversations turned to sex i was very open and so was he about our likes and dislikes. Anyways I invited him over so we could talk more face to face and one thing led to another. I would never have let it go as far as having sex but i think it felt so right and was so enjoyable. I was just wondering if anyone has an opinion on if they think going to far to soon may hurt a future relationship?

You obviously needed it, or you would've let it happen. So be at peace for what you did with him.
But to be frank, it is recommended that a relationship not be built on sex, and that it should be saved till later when you guys have gotten to know each other much better and have been going out more. Because if sex were introduced early on during a relationship, the great physical intimacy will blind both parties to other things such as true compatibility etc as all they will be thinking is how great the sex is.
So could it hurt a future relationship? Very possible. But it's not absolute. So if you want to give it a try anyway, just be aware of the potentia illusion that "everything is great" which sex could bring into the picture.

Here's my view...any two consenting adults that want to have sex (and arent' cheating on anyone) should feel free to have sex.
However, sex sometimes does muck up what might have been a more serious relationship IF it occurs early on. Not always, but it can cause things to end before they begin...whereas waiting a little while is never the wrong thing to do...
My 2¢ ...I've done it both ways...

Your two grown consenting adults, if it felt right for the both of you then don't worry about it. It doesn't matter if you had sex now or later, if the relationship wasn't meant to be than it won't work out either way, but if things are going good then just go with the flow...no pun intended...lol ENJOY
Good Luck

Who are you trying to kid here? You know full well that your intentions were to get this man into bed by asking him to come over to your place. I've played that game before. Anyway, just as long as you were safe I don't think it was wrong. When you need some you need some.

If you're looking for no strings attached, then go for it. If you're not ready emotionally, then stop what you're doing because one night may lead to another night and you may not know what his intentions may be. Don't forget about the children because they are smarter than what we give them credit for and they're going to notice the frequent nights out and will start to get curious and you have to be ready for that.
