Did I just get a bunch of thumbs down for being a military wife for 9 yrs? Do you think military members WANT to be in the middle east? Sure there are some that do, but what about those who joined so they could support their families??
If it was just a bad answer, so be it, but really....I'd like to know if you blame the actual guys out there risking thier lives for you....do you blame them for the war??
I'd link the question, but apparently I'm doing it wrong, it didn't take.

Thanks for the support & good wishes, I have forwarded them to soldiers and their families. You've just made someone's day =)
Tawaen, I agree about the church and state issue, you're right, I was distracted by the reference to soldiers =)
I surely don't mind getting thumbs down for a bad answer. It's just when somebody puts down our military, I have to wonder if there's a 5 yr limit on memory. Nobody was complaining when our men jumped up to defend us while we were digging out of the rubble, ya know?
SO...sorry if I overreacted, I get a little touchy about this subject =) And no, I don't think they should be over in Iraq now either!

I was a military wife for 13 years. You didn't say what branch. I spent many holidays and birthdays alone, so I understand how hard it is. God bless you and your family. Anyone that doesn't support our military can just move to another country. Then I'll bet they'd support it. They had just better thank God that there is men and women out there defending our rights and our country. God Bless America and the men and women that fight for it.
For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a sweetness the protected will never know. USMC

I did not see the original post. No I do not blame the men and women serving in the armed forces. They don't start the wars the politicians do. My only son picked the military for a career and ended up in a war. I do not support the reason we are in this war. The troops I support 100%. My family has a long history of service to this country and have made sacrifices some with their lives. Hold your head up. Be proud to be the wife of a solider. I hope he is safe.

Some people don't like the military because...well....they kill people (mostly bad guys).
I have a healthy respect for our brave men and women in uniform and not just the military but those who serve in law enforcement, fire fighting, etc.
Unfortunately, I can't enlist in the military because of mental health problems (plus, I need to lose weight, too). So I give a hearty salute to those who have served.
And I don't blame the military for the war. Besides, the media doesn't even report the good stuff going on in Iraq; there are soldiers out there building schools, homes, etc. so that the Iraqis can have a future without Saddam; likewise with Afghanistan; girls are now allowed to attend school without the Taliban in power.

I didn't rate you a thumbs down. I didn't rate at all. Maybe because I am not completely awake yet or maybe because my head hurts way to much to see that little rating thing. I don't blame our boys in Iraq for the war. I blame Bush. I support our troops 100% and I wish them luck over there. It tears my heart out everytime I see another person die there. Hugs to you and your family. Keep your chins up and if you want to talk let me know. My husband isn't military but I will be there to listen to you.

I do not like that fact that some (not all) soldiers are going over there and giving the US a bad name by all the war crimes they are committing over there. No wonder why countries hate us. Our murder and rape cases are so high over here and now they are bringing those numbers over seas. I am not saying everyone in the military is bad, I just do not like the ones who give us a bad name. They deserve the death penalty because I wouldn't want them back living in America.
By the way, I am giving you a thumbs up for your question because as I mentioned, not all military members are committing war crimes and I know that a lot of men and women don't want to be over there. It's no excuse for the members who murder and rape over there, though.

I have nothing against out military! Granted a few of the INDIVIDUALS have gone off the deep end in their treatment of gays, prisoners and etc., but as a whole, I love the men and women who give me the right to say what I say and do what I do at a very high cost! God didn't grant me the physicality to pick up a weapon and stand apost, but if He had, I'd be right there with them, for I treasure the banner of liberty I sleep and awaken under each day. I want to take the opportunity to thank you and your husband for your selfless sacrifice!

The guys who are out there risking their lives are not to blame. It is our government. George Bush & his friends who are making money off of this war. Cheney was the CEO of Haliburtin & still has stock. There was no bid for the contract. Bush talks about how he won't sacrifice lives for stem cell research, but he has already sacrified over 2,600 (I've lost count) of our people & countless other civilans we were there to "help". The soldiers are definately not to blame. I hope & pray your husband comes home safely & won't be sent back.

I have nothing but admiration, respect and heartfelt gratitude to our servicemen and women who are risking their lives everyday to protect all the freedoms we enjoy every day by living in America. Bless all of those who have fought and died before and all of those who will fight and die again for our wonderful country.
Congratulations on being married to a real life hero!

The meat head and leather necks are nice people, it's the wacko commanders, and their boss the Middle Eastern Oil Lords who bother me.

I have nothing against the men and women serving in the US armed forces. I served for 6 yrs and I know that they are doing a job that few want to do, even fewer are willing to do, and being underpaid to do it.
It is politicians that start wars, not the lonely solder trying to do his/her best to serve.
