Without doubt my favourite type of red is Amarone. And the best I've had is this: Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, 2000 (Allegrini).

I also love it's sweet red cousin Recioto, a delicious red, that's big and full bodied. The only one I drink, becuase it is so hard to find is Recioto della Valpolicella Masi.

Finally I have a passion for finding and trying those those really odd ones which you can only really discover at cellar door, where by happenchance something extraordinary happens.

So here's to Wilson's Vineyards in Australia to their magnificently strange desert Zinfandel. If you can get your hands on it, I guarantee you will be rewarded:

Love that Shiraz Princess gal... except her concept that wine and cheese don't complement each other. (I'm inviting her over at some point for goat cheese and Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc... and some red wine proof that the fat from the cheese does really break up the tannins in the wine and the combination of the two can be tastier than either one alone...) Where were we? Oh, yes... Favorite red wine?

Depends on the food - lol

David Bruce Petite Syrah... Montecillo Rioja Crianza.... Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignon.... Santa Cristina Sangiovese, Antinori.... Cristom Pinot Noir... several of the Trader Joe Chilean Collection wines... really something for $4 - lol

Easily Maritma Sangiovese from KLwines.com. Only place to find it. It is only $7.49 a bottle but drinks like it is $20-$30.
Others are Three Sister Cabernet from Cakebread Cellars in Napa.
Rochiolli Pinot is superb.

Have not had anything from troon vineyard but will now search them out.

I'm fortunate enough to be surrounded by some of the best wine in California. It's really difficult to pick a favorite because there are so many good ones. It really depends on what I'm eating.
