In the USA "Chicken of the Sea" is a brand name for Tuna Fish. People will sometimes use the brand name instead of the product name. Another example of this is sometimes when you want a photocopy of something you will ask for a Xerox copy. Xerox is the company that makes photocopies. Same is true when someone wants something sent overnight they will ask it to be FedExed instead of asking for it to be sent overnight.

Why the name Chicken of the Sea?

In the "old days", fishermen referred to the white albacore tuna as "chicken of the sea". It was called this because the white color and very mild flavor reminded them of chicken. The founder of the company thought this would be a unique name for a brand of tuna, and the Chicken of the Sea brand is now known worldwide.
