My brother and his buddy have blackberrys. They are constantly checking the screen to see replies to their text messages and then send more. Its kinda like a silent private chatter between them and their friends. Addictive? Maybe as much as teens on the telephone used to be. Just a different form of communication.

I think you can get the Internet on the go with them, also people use them for work. I don't use my cell phone as much as others. I don't always have it to my ear. So I guess it is kinda like cell phone addiction on speed!

Because just like computers, this and other gadgets that keeps us entertained, and when we are entertained, we are able to forget our problems and our routines (by the most part).

In other words, anything that makes us feel better about our lives are bound to become addicting, especially if it takes over the rest of our lives.

can u think of your life with email client like outlook express.... would it sound like an addiction when you use them umpteen numbers of times a day....
blackberry pushes the email on to your handheld without you having to lo-gin(just like sms) and takes away the woes of logging... entering password again and again...
that make it easy
coupled by the fact that it also has a better QWERTY keyboard....its compelling to use...

that gets addictive....
