this is your problem : you are sleeping TO MUCH !
here are the reasons :
1. you are still a young male / female ( i can not tell from your name i am sorry :P )
2 . the more a person sleeps the more their body wants it so if you sleep a lot you have more reason for your body to be tired when you do wake up - its strange i know
3 . some doctors do not know what the hell they are talking about have you noticed that depression is the the answer for a lot of unexplained symptoms? sad huh? : ))
4 . also being a younger male / female your body does not require as much sleep ( to be healthy ) as maybe a 35 year old or 40 year old etc .. this is why the dr says you are healthy because you are getting more then enough sleep
i would try staying up a little later or getting up eairler i dont think that would NOT make you tired right away ..but once you get into a habit i do think it would help you out a lot
i hope i helped :)

Look into what your diet might be lacking. Are you eating enough vegetables, drinking plenty of water? I know that water seems to help me. Try drinking the required 8 glasses (8oz) of water daily for the next few days and stay away from sodas and juices. You may also want to add a daily walk into your schedule maybe early mornings or late evenings before you call it a night. That's when you get the best sleep after a nice relaxing bath or shower after a work out. You could be depressed about something that you're not consciously thinking about. Workout to releave any stress or tension. If you can't do 8 glasses of the water then try at least 5 to start with. Also if you can find a good herbal vitamin over the counter with royale jelly in it maybe a vitamin supplement will help.
Don't give up. I've been there. Keep trying!
Good Luck and God Bless!

Most people manage quite well on 7 or 8 hours of sleep per night but some people actually need 9 or 10 hours. Depression can be caused by isolation and boredom and that can lead to a fatigue problem. There are many different ways to boost your energy level. A B50 or B100 is a very potent vitamin B complex including lots of vitamin B12 (the energy vitamin) and that should boost your energy level. You could also take a high potency energy multivitamin that also includes lots of vitamin B12. If you take vitamin B12 alone you are likely to create an imbalance with the other B vitamins which all interact so the B complex or a multivitamin is better than vitamin B12 alone. Coenzyme Q10 is a good energy enzyme to take. It also slows down the aging process. It is mainly intended for people over 40 or even older such as over 50 or over 60. You can also get more energy enzymes from more fruit and vegetables to boost your energy level. Spirulina (very high in chlorophyll) is another energy boosting food. Liquid chlorophyll is another one.

Do you live with someone else? Ask them if you snore loudly. If you do, you might have sleep apnea. It's a condition where the epiglottis flops down and cuts off your oxygen at night. (The loud snoring is you gasping for breath). As a result, you wake up many times in the night (sometimes you may not remember it in the morning), and don't get the rest you need. They can do a sleep test on you at most hospitals, but they are expensive--if you can, have your doctor recommend one. I had no idea I had it until I took the test, and found out I woke up 120 times in 4 hours.
If it is sleep apnea, there is a machine that can help, called a CPAP machine. A hose runs from the machine to a mask over your face (yes, I know--my husband calls me the elephant woman), and air flows through the tube. It's not much, but it's enough to keep continuous air flowing through, and you don't wake up all the time. Seriously, even with all the gear, I sleep better now than I have in years.

I feel the same way. I am 21 and get just about 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night. I have not saw a doctor yet about it - but reading your comments and some of the answers have given me a few ideas of what to try.
When you figure this out - let me know :o)

There's alot of factors involved but waking up tired has a cause.

Try only sleeping 6-7 hours. Too much sleep can make you more tired.

I would say your are much like me. You are in bed 8 hours but you are not getting 8 hours of sleep. I am very restless when I sleep so 8 hours in bed will get me 6 hours of sleep at best.

could be a lot of things. Depression is certainly something to look at. Also, are you on any meds? those could cause it. Not enough water could cause it as well as too much caffiene.
If you take in a lot of carbs, that can also cause it.

There is probably a medical reason, such as chronic fatigue. Diet can also have a lot to do with it. See your doctor.
