Masterbation is a way of pleasuring oneself in order to "relieve sexual tension." In the Christian faith, we pray and immerse ourselves in God's Word so that we won't fall into temptation like that.
And trust me, it isn't easy to fend off sexual thoughts and stuff. Our culture and entertainment industry is saturated in sexuality. As one of our Sunday School teachers put it, we live in a rated R world. Unfortunately, sex in entertainment is big money.

Lust is a sin, but masturbation doesn't necessarily mean a person is lusting after another. Therefore, I am not sure. The bible doesn't make any specific mention of masturbation. If a person doesn't believe it is a sin, they aren't repenting for doing it.
However, if it is a sin because it is an act of selfishness, as so many others already pointed out, most of us are going to hell.

i'm a guy yet I had this problem and it wasn't me forgetting now to not do it that became the problem even with the undeniable fact that the act of no longer feeling exhilaration. So basically discover yet another exhilaration it quite is harmless that may get your concepts off of that. i in my opinion basically stop chilly turkey with no longer something else to modify it I basically had to consciously make the decision to end. in case you fairly love God you would possibly want to end yet he will basically forgive you once you forgive your self. in case you do it back basically are literally not making a large deal out of it because unfavourable concepts will arise and also you sense like a failure and so on. basically improve up and prepare your self you've administration over your self.

Short answer; Yes with an if
Long answer; No with a but...
Leviticus 15:16 And if any man's seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.
Leviticus 15:17 And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even.
So, "polish the bishop" but clean up afteryourself.

Not to my Gods. :) How can it be any more or less sinful than procreating? Same activity, just not shared. Besides, what kind of God(s), with the well-being of their followers in mind, would deny them such a simple pleasure?

Anything short of what God commands for sexuality is sin, even if not expressly prohibited in the text.

No, it is not. Not even in the bible does it say that. You may have heard certain religious passages twisted to imply that it is, but that is the same kind of thinking that makes jihadists out of the muslims in the middle east.

No, masturbation is not a sin -- unless your angry mother catches you doing it.
God knows that we all have urges and we all have desires.
Attached is a Baptist minister's article about how to deal with masturbation.

There are no gods.
This is probably best asked in the health questions. I think the current understanding is that it is univeral and healthy. But, trust me, my wife is much more fun.

Yes, masturbation IS a sin and all sins are wrong in God's eyes. Masturbation is adultery
"Whoever looks at a women (or man) with sexual desires has already commited adultery with her (or him) in his (or her) heart" - Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:28)
