evolution. think about it, would a cristian want a scientist teaching evolution in a church? for the same reason, i wouldnt want religion to influence students in schools. a school is supposed to be a place where oppresion, and religious/cultural influence dont exist. creationism is religion biased, with much less proof. evolution however is an unbiased, scientific theory, with proof to back it up. but if creationism had to be taught in schools, it think it should be taught in social studies or history under "world religion". and only the facts, no opinion taught, just like in science.

Evolution is a scientific fact, so it should be taught in PUBLIC schools. Evolution does not explain the origins of the universe (this is why some people call it a theory). Creation (the existence of everything explained by faith in a higher power) is a religion-based ideology that should be taught in church and church sponsored schools. There is no reason the two ideas can not be believed at the same time.
God created everything. Life on earth developed and prospered through evolution.

Evolution should be taught in science class, because it is a scientific theory with a strong base of evidence.

Creation could be mentioned in social studies when the students learn about world religions and how each world religion believed that life and the earth was created. This is a more of a humanity topic, since it is definitely not science.

No theory should be taught before College. Young minds do not differentiate between theory , fact or Mysticism and no Religions needs to be taught in Public School ,that is a Parents duty. How every History is another thing the Bible is a historical book written by witnesses, not a book on Theory, coming from a Christian you might be surprised. If Religion becomes a requirement in School , you best consider all religions will be taught. would this be acceptable to every one?

Science should be taught in science class.

Religion should be taught in a religion class (which can't be run through the public school system by law)

I'm up for both.

Evolution in science class and creationism as part of the look at christianity within a comparative religions class.

The evidence for evolution is and has been interpreted from a Philosophical and ideological Bias, The answers given by adherents to Evolution here in R&S is proof of the bias and agenda, Atheism has to have an alternate explanation—other than a Creator—for how the universe and life came into existence.
Darwin once identified himself as a Christian but as a result of some tragedies that took place in his life, he later renounced the Christian faith and the existence of God. Evolution was invented by an atheist.
What is sad is that Christians are falling into this Trap and trying to fit evolution into the Bible (Theistic Evolution) thinking they can make it fit.
Lee Stroble in his video listed below “ The Case for the Creator” stated (5 min. 28 sec into the video) The Case for a Creator

That “There is no way you can Harmonize Neo Darwinism with Christianity, I could never understand Christians who would say “ Well I believe in God yet I believe in Evolution as well” You see Darwin’s idea about the development of life led to his theory that modern science now generally defines as an undirected process completely devoid of any purpose or plan,”. Now how could God direct an undirected process? How could God have purpose in a plan behind a system that has no plan and no purpose? It just does not make sense.
It didn’t make sense to me in 1966 and it doesn’t make sense to me now.
The Apostle Paul wrote to His Son Timothy stating that “ in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, [because] they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn [their] ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”

Those Christians who believe in evolution have no idea how that effects their theology.

well personally I believe in the creation story, but I think since both are just theories, none should be taught in a public school.

I don't want any school teaching religion to my child, that's best left to people who understand the Bible and by me and my wife. I also don't believe they should be teaching evolution as science since it's a disprovable theory, I can come up with all kinds of theories, should they be taught in schools as science, hardly.
