My Leo is scared of everyone and everything but me. He only comes out when I am around. He will only let me feed him or pet him. He hides all day long if I am at work or not here. The other cats run away when someone comes but are not like Leo. Leo only likes me. He won't even let my Mom go near him.

no you're not alone. my husband's cat...is very peranoid. But for her it's a safety & trust issue. She is only at ease if she can see him. when I am with her...I call it babysitting until her daddy gets home....Cause she will only allow me to be social with her for only a little while. But she my husband gets home...she's a total daddy's girl....
she was abused my her former owner....& she see's my husband as her safety, because we took her in & she immediatly took up with him.

You are not alone. When we have company my cat will sit in front of my bedroom door and growl and hiss at anyone who comes near him. He is like a watch dog.

My old cat would smell people's shoes, then come around and smell people's feet when we had company. I think she was making sure she knew who's shoes to leave furballs in if they ticked her off. It really was odd...
She never seemed overly paranoid, though, just prepared.

I think all cats have a little craziness in them. I have two kittens and I swear one has issues galore. The other one is normal *lol*

I don't have a cat, but I know that this is pretty common. Cats just are like that sometimes.

yes. my cat will even hiss at some people.
She can be really mean. My vet calls her Satan. They have to cage her and put her to sleep during a routine yearly exam!
It's expensive and embarrasing!

You are not alone, my cat's the same way, I believe, they have a problem with trust. We never know, what they may encounter, when they are out on the prowl......................:)
