First... take all of your prerequisites because you have to have them no matter what - but in the mean time - you need to find a job working as close to a physician as possible and for a long time because you do not want to get yourself into something you dont know if you will end up liking it or not, then you want to obtain a degree in Biology, Bio-Chemistry or something like that. It is not suggested to get a "pre-med" degree because if you decide not to become a Dr., then what are you left with... a degree you can do NOTHING with!

Before you take any steps, just let me tell you that excellent spelling is imperitive for Doctors. God forbid you should write a presciption with the wrong spelling. Many drugs sound the same, but obviously are spelt differently. lol

Take your schooling seriously (including English) and aim for consistently high grades. You will have to do a B.Sc degree so science is very important. Remember competition for entry to medical school is very high and your educational record will be the key to the beginning of a long road of study and long hours of hospital work.
