Because it can, will, and DOES affect you.
Sure, you THINK it won't, but it does.
As long as you keep harboring hate for that
one person or groups of people, the more it
becomes than likely that you will want to do
harm to them.
Best advice? Pray to God and Jesus to help
you to rid yourself of hate.
However, it improves you when you hate what is bad,
such as sinful practices. That is only when hate is used
positively.

It affects our outwardly appearance. It's similar to lust--if we are focused on our grievances toward someone, we have a difficult time also loving them (which, Jesus states, is the most important commandment).
And personally, hating people is just too burdensome, regardless of religious opinions. I'd rather not hold a grudge against anyone.

I see that some have not really read the bible as to what hate means. There is a good reason to hate what is bad as it will do harm to us. Many confuse hate for dislike when you dislike something you avoid it. To hate means you find it repulsive to you it will do something bad to you.

I think its a sin against your own soul to hate. it brings negative energy to your being. the people you hate must really mean a lot to you anyway if you give them so much of your energy and bother to hate them...it must mean deep down someplace you really care,

Because true hate is not good. True hate does nothing for anyone. Don't hate someone, just tolerate them until you are not around them.

Jesus said love your enemy the most.
It's about judgement and only God can judge, not man.
Man is ill equipped.
This does not mean be a door mat or whipping boy.
It means let others do all the active hating.

because it is harmful to others, when people hate it is not healthy for them to hold that grudge first of all, then if that person puts that hate to action, it results in harm to another person.
