but I'm not helpless. I can change my own tires and my own oil in my car. I can do maintenance on my house, I don't need a man's help for these things.
My friends say that men like to feel like they are needed.
But, I don't want someone to feel they HAVE to take care of me.
Does that scare men away? I've read a statement on someone's 360 that asked where are all the submissive women...(to that effect)

I do have a brain and a terrific sense of humor...
I don't believe that men should do housework, though. Women are USUALLY a little bit more particulare when it comes to that. Not always, but usually.
I don't cook worth a damn though.

An independent women does not scare all men away. If it does then they have a problem. In a relationship you both have to have your own lives too so it is good to not have to depend on the other person totally.

How do you call yourself old fashioned but yet do everything foryourself. Usually oldfashion women let men take care or everything. You basically have to learn how to give in a little i mean you may not need him financially but let the guy at least change a tire.

I'm the same way. I find that I pick up more men being independant. It makes them feel more free. Cause they know I'm not going to call at 6 in the morning with a flat tire...

I prefer woman who are independent and have their own thoughts and ideas. I tend to call it maturity and is prized by guys like me. Good luck in your future endeavors.
